Planting Seeds of Love Instead of Hatred
“Our relative did this to me…”
“Your relative treated us like that…”
These are common phrases we hear within families and social circles. We repeat them so often that they become ingrained in our children’s minds, unknowingly planting seeds of hatred in their hearts.
With time, these small seeds grow into deeply rooted trees of resentment. Before we realize it, this negativity becomes a permanent part of their personalities.
And what happens next?
This hatred robs them of their innocence, weakens their relationships, and diminishes their ability to show kindness and compassion.
A Gentle Reminder
Relationships are a blessing, a privilege that not everyone has. If you truly care for your children, do them one favor — do not take away meaningful relationships from them just to satisfy your ego.
Instead, instill love and goodwill in their hearts so their lives are filled with kindness and warmth. Let them value relationships rather than destroy them.
We often focus too much on negativity, allowing it to shape our interactions and damage our relationships. Yet, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also advised against this.
Choose positivity.
Avoid spreading negativity.
Be mindful of words that create distance instead of unity.
Many broken relationships and misunderstandings arise from words carried from one person to another. If we stop spreading negativity and refrain from fueling unnecessary conflicts, we can protect our relationships and preserve the love that keeps us connected.
Speak well, think wisely, and let love grow.
